you tube is unreal!!!

Our pedal stomp channel at youtube.com has been suspended without any explanation and youtube won't give any reason. We had over 600,000 views on vids and over 710 subscribers. I worked for several years building up that channel for nothing.
What kind of fucked up service terminates your account and won't even give you a reason??? I am done with youtube and will just start my own tube service or find one that wont terminate our account for no good reason. I just don't understand how everything is good one day and terminated the next. We don't use nudity, copyright music or videos or anything out of line in our channel and had already received one infraction and never got an explanation for that one either. Anyway just letting you guys know.

Youtube has been notorious with this sort of stuff for a while... sometimes, some anonymous sources would flag videos and would garner attention. Usually that is all it takes.

Hosting your own video content can become expensive and take a large toll on server resources. Also, you will have to setup a streaming media server which is no easy task or cheap either.

There is an untapped resource that we should all look into called Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/

If you read their terms of service they have several sections regarding adult sexual behavior none of which saying that it is not allowed. I have looked and their is some pornographic content on their site so I don't think a few women's feet driving are going to hurt.

You can setup a free account with them to try the service out but if you are serious about posting video I would look into their Plus account which is $10 per month.

I had 2 videos flagged and removed as spam. When I contacted youtube to find out why they were flagged inappropriately, they just replied and said they couldn't give out any information on it.

Thus you get what you pay for I reckon.

Exactly, how can a service suspend your account but not give you a reason so you don't do it again? I know it is a free service and I did get what I paid for but being a reputable company, I just expected a little more from them than screw you and we don't have to tell you why. Just because someone is flagging accounts is not a good reason and thats what I have determined happen.
Youtube was not my big traffic source but it was providing another function for me that was important. So I have learned a good lesson about building up and wasting time on a site I do not control. It's cost me a couple of days work fixing and replacing the mess. Anyway, nothing I can do about it now but learn from it

I learned real quick not to rely on youtube for any functions other than preparing to be banned\. Being banned on youtube is the story of my life. I finally was told that it was as simple as someone clicking flag on my video and after 3 or 4 my account is terminated. Youtube was a very large source of traffic for my sites and so it was a big loss on my part I spent countless hours making promo videos trying to tap into the mainstream market.
I have come to the conclusion that pedal pumping is porn. So I

I post my promo videos there and its free to watch!

I am building a free tube site too. Got it up and running and finishing some final touches. I have learned a lesson and I have learned pedal pumping is porn too lol.

I feel you guys. I was thinking of the exact same thing, We have to start an alternative to you tube. They seem to have have no consideration for their customers at all. It seems all that is required is some shmuck out there to 'flag' one of your videos, and wamm you are suddendly banned.

We should get together and really start an alternative to that damm U tube, but the key is to support it well. Let current youtubers know about it too. The site would not just ban stuff just randomly, or delete a user just because someone 'flags' their content.

I have a little background in setting up servers and networks. But I guess the big barrier is cost. If you guys want to contribute to a pool,and do this as a project, e me back, or reply to this thread. Why must we pin all our content with only YOU TUBE?, It's time for an alternative.

what if youtube is banning the good stuff because its advertising other sites? i guess they dont care if people like sean are posting videos that they own. perhaps the gay pp are not being advertised from websites so youtube doesnt think people are stealing other peoples videos from websites
